No more debilitating test anxiety with the help of wingwave Method

Fritsche, N. (2007). Effektivität der wingwave-Methode beim Einsatz gegen Prüfungsängste [Effectiveness of the wingwave method to combat test anxieties]. Thesis for the final examination in the study of psychology at the University of Hamburg.

Nadia Fritsche untersuchte bereits im Jahre 2007 in ihrer Diplomarbeit die Effektivität der wingwave-Methode bei der Behandlung von Prüfungsangst (Fritsche, 2007).

In 2007 Nadia Fritsche examined in her thesis the effectiveness of the wingwave method in the treatment of test anxiety (Fritsche, 2007).

A total of 13 students and actors participated in her study. Initially, the subjects were tested “without being coached” shortly before and shortly after an examination and/or a performance (1st time of measurement). Subsequently, all the trial participants were given an average session of two hours of wingwave Coaching. This was followed by two more times of measurement: The 2nd time of measurement recorded the elevation in the state of anxiety shortly before and shortly after a second similar exam situation, and the 3rd time of measurement recorded the state of anxiety three weeks later during the expectation of a similar exam situation. The studies were able to demonstrate that the test anxiety had significantly reduced from the time of the 1st measurement to the time of the 2nd measurement, and this improvement remained unchanged even after three weeks at the time of the 3rd measurement.

Furthermore, it could be demonstrated that the results were identical irrespective of the causes the subjects, which the identified for the origin of their test anxiety.

Moreover, it demonstrated in the sub-scale of TAI that the excitement and self-doubt reduced significantly from the 1st time of measurement to the 2nd time of measurement, whereas the subjects were rated as more confident. Therefore, the study was able to demonstrate that wingwave can not only help to reduce the negative emotions, but also to elevate the positive emotions.
